Getting Started in Finish It
Your first session on the lot — tools, cash, and a wall you can actually finish.
Finish It drops you next to an unfinished house and expects you to understand plaster, trowels, paint, and a shop in the first minute. This beginner guide is that minute, stretched out so you do not buy the wrong upgrade. Play the free Roblox experience from Moonrise Interactive, then keep this page open beside how to play and controls.
The game launched on 9 August 2026. Servers hold 20 players. You can solo the lot or treat it as a shared construction site. Nothing here requires a gamepass. Infinite Spray and friends are shortcuts, not tickets to enter.
Minute 0–5: spawn and look
Walk a circle around the house before you fire the hopper gun. Note brick exteriors, scaffolding, buckets, interior rooms with tiled walls, and the outdoor pool if it has spawned on your plot. Those are your job sites. The satisfying clip you want — white plaster covering red brick — is the core loop, not a cutscene.
Open the tool switcher. You should see at least a spray gun (red hopper, blue barrel) and a trowel. Paint comes into play after a surface is plastered and smoothed. If a control does not respond, read controls before you assume the game is broken.
Minute 5–20: finish one wall the right way
Pick a small exterior brick wall. Spray a continuous coat until the red disappears, then switch to the trowel and flatten ridges. A sprayed wall that is never smoothed is half a job and usually pays like one. Paint last so you are not painting raw brick.
Common first-session mistakes:
- Spraying while walking backward so half the coat hits grass.
- Switching to paint because it looks prettier, then wondering why cash is low.
- Starting the pool first. The pool looks great (see the plaster guide) but is a large, thirsty surface for a starter tank.
- Standing in the same spot as two other players. Move. Co-op is not a mosh pit; assign sides with co-op roles even on a pickup server.
Minute 20–40: first shop visit
Cash from that wall should buy spray or movement speed, not a skin. More Speed exists as a gamepass because walking is the hidden tax. Galaxy Skin is a flex. The upgrade tier list ranks S-tier spends; the upgrade planner turns that rank into a purchase order.
If you have Robux itching, the only early pass that changes the beginner hour is Infinite Spray or More Speed. Everything else waits until you understand plates and turrets. Read the gamepass tier list before All Gamepasses starts looking like a shortcut.
Minute 40–60: set a goal
Do not “work on the house.” Finish a named surface: east exterior, kitchen interior, or pool floor. Tick it on the house checklist. Then either keep soloing with solo playstyle or invite a friend and split floors.
Check codes once. As of September 2026 there is no verified string, so do not stall the session waiting for TikTok. Join the Moonrise Interactive group from official links if you want shout pings.
What you can ignore on day one
- Perfect color matching. More Colors is a later comfort pass.
- Turret placement theory. Learn one good wall first.
- Scripts. If you came from a YouTube “auto farm” thumbnail, read script safety and then go back to the trowel.
- Completing the entire house in one sitting. Incremental sims are built for return visits; the updates hub will add more reasons to come back.
When the first hour ends you should have: one finished surface, one useful upgrade, and a plan for session two. Session two is how to earn money and how to finish the house.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Finish It players.
Is Finish It free to play?
Yes. Gamepasses speed the loop but are optional. Start without them.
Should I plaster or paint first?
Plaster, then trowel, then paint. Painting raw brick wastes time and cash.
Can I play Finish It solo?
Yes. Servers allow up to 20 players, but the loop works alone. See solo playstyle.
What if I cannot find the trowel?
Use the tool switcher on the HUD. Device-specific tips are on controls.
